Privacy Notice for Custom GPTs Created by Melanie McDonough

Effective 4 May 2025

1. Quick snapshot

  • No builder access to your chats. I can’t view or store individual conversations.
  • No separate tracking. I run no cookies, ad pixels, or marketing lists.
  • All processing happens inside OpenAI’s ChatGPT platform.

2. Who’s who

  • Custom GPTs (“the bots”) – chatbots I build and publish in ChatGPT.
  • OpenAI – hosts ChatGPT, stores conversation logs, and supplies security.

3. How your messages flow

  • You type a prompt → it travels (encrypted) to OpenAI’s servers.
  • OpenAI’s models generate a reply.
  • I never see that raw data unless you copy/paste it to me elsewhere.

4. What OpenAI may collect

  • Conversation content – your prompts, uploads, and the bot’s responses.
  • Technical details – IP address, device/browser type, timestamps, basic usage stats.
  • Optional external calls – only if the GPT needs them (see Addendum).
OpenAI may use chat snippets to improve its models unless you turn that off in ChatGPT → Settings → Data Controls → “Improve the model for everyone.” OpenAI Help CenterOpenAI Help CenterOpenAI Help Center

5. What I (the builder) do with your data

Nothing. I don’t log, save, analyze, share, or sell it—because I never receive it.

6. Your controls & rights

  • Disable model‑training at any time in Settings → Data Controls. OpenAI Help CenterOpenAI Help Center
  • Delete a chat via the “•••” menu next to the conversation.
  • Request, correct, or erase data through privacy.openai.com (OpenAI handles these requests). OpenAI

7. Security

Messages are encrypted in transit and stored under OpenAI’s SOC 2–audited controls. OpenAI

8. Children

These GPTs are not designed for users under 13. Please don’t supply personal data about children.

9. GPT‑Specific Addendum

For each bot I release, I’ll list only the ways it differs from the baseline above—typically:

  • External APIs called (names and purpose)
  • Additional data sent (if any)
  • Unique contact e‑mail (if different)

External API used: RSS2JSON – converts a public RSS feed into JSON so the GPT can summarize items.
Data shared: Only the public RSS feed URL you supply. No personal identifiers are sent.
Authorization: ChatGPT asks for one‑time consent to make this call. The request is routed by OpenAI; my GPT never sees your IP or the response token.
Retention: The GPT does not store or log feed URLs. RSS2JSON discards requests after returning the JSON response.
Revoke: You can revoke permission any time in ChatGPT ▶ Settings ▶ Connected Apps (or simply decline the banner).

10. Changes

Material updates will be posted here with a new “Effective Date.”
